Santa Rosa teens arrested in gang fight

Three Santa Rosa teens were arrested Wednesday night after what police say was a gang-related altercation at the Second Street Transit Mall in downtown Santa Rosa.

One victim suffered head injures when he was struck in the head with a bottle during Wednesday's 8:50 p.m. fight, though his injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.

Authorities said the incident began when a group of young people challenged another group with gang slogans, and one of the victims was struck in the head with the bottle.

One of the 17-year-old suspects was arrested for alleged assault with a deadly weapon, but then tried to kick out a window in a patrol car and had vandalism and resisting arrest charges added to his arrest slate.

The girl is suspected of interfering with the officers while this occurred and was arrested for suspicion of resisting arrest and interfering with officers, police said.

The second 17-year-old youth was arrested for suspicion of public intoxication, police said.

Their names were withheld because they are minors.
