A 55-year-old East Bay woman who was among three pedestrians struck by car in a Santa Rosa crosswalk Monday is expected to recover from her injuries, including a cut on the back of her head, Santa Rosa police reported.
The woman, a resident of Clayton, was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital after the incident, reported about 1:15 p.m. at the corner of Fourth and E streets. Her injuries turned out not to be life-threatening, police said Tuesday.
Sgt. John Snetsinger was not aware if she was still hospitalized Tuesday night. Her name was not released.
The other two pedestrians were a 21-year-old man from Fort Bragg, N.C., and 23-year-old Rohnert Park woman. They suffered only minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Their names were not released.
The trio were walking east across E Street with a green light when a Ford Focus heading west on Fourth Street attempted to make a left turn heading south onto E Street, police said.
The driver, Phillip Rea, 20, of Santa Rosa, appeared not to have seen the pedestrians, Snetsinger said
Police said neither alcohol nor drugs appear to have been factor. Rea was tested on scene. He was not cited.
