Motorcycle rider, 81, crashes over Sonoma Coast embankment

The rider was on a three-wheeler when he ran off of Highway 1 near Portuguese Beach on Tuesday.|

An 81-year-old motorcyclist was flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Tuesday afternoon after crashing his three-wheeler bike on a coast ride, the CHP said.

Witnesses reported the crash at 2:30 p.m., generating an emergency response that included a CHP helicopter. The man was found about 20 feet down an embankment off Highway 1 near Portuguese Beach, between Jenner and Bodega Bay, according to initial CHP reports.

No other details were available Tuesday.
