Suspects arrested in Sonoma Valley home invasion

Sonoma County Sheriff deputies arrested two men Friday suspected in an armed home invasion that occurred earlier in the day in the Sonoma Valley.

Around 1:33 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a burglary in the area of Boyes Boulevard and Railroad Avenue in El Verano. They eventually found the victims in a residence in the 18000 block of Park Tree Lane.

The victims reported that three to four armed men bound them with zip ties and robbed them of cash and a large amount of marijuana. One of the victims freed himself and was able to see the suspects flee in an orange old-model Volkswagen Beetle.

Approximately 30 minutes later, officers from the California Highway Patrol spotted the suspects' vehicle driving westbound on Bennett Valley Road in Santa Rosa and stopped it near the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. Inside officers found a large quantity of pot and three loaded handguns.

Deputies arrested Noel Salbalsa Garcia, 36, and Ricardo Martin Marin-Casillas, 35. Both suspects are from Mexico, but have been living in Arizona. They remained in the Sonoma County Jail Saturday.

Detectives believe there may be outstanding suspects in the case.
