Fort Bragg police are searching for a man who robbed a downtown bookstore at gunpoint on Saturday.

The man entered Cheshire Books on Franklin Street just before 2:50 p.m., authorities said. He pointed a black handgun at the employee, took the contents of the cash register and fled, police said.

The suspect was last seen heading south in an alley, police said. He was described as a male adult, under 6-feet tall, wearing a blue stocking cap, black, wrap around sunglasses, a white, long-sleeved thermal T-shirt and blue baggy pants.
