Holiday wreath-making workshop
You can keep a winter tradition dating back to ancient times and learn how to make your own wreath at a workshop Wednesday. Locally foraged materials will be used — everything from evergreen branches and mosses to fragrant herbs. Dundee Butcher of the Russian River Flower School will teach the workshop. The cost is $125. 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Healdsburg SHED, 25 North St., Healdsburg, 707-431-7433, healdsburgshed.com.
Does your gift list include crafts?
Dozens of local vendors and makers will be at the second annual St. Helena Winter Market Saturday. After perusing the goods you can go to one of the workshops, which include cookie-decorating, ornament making and holiday cocktails. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Native Sons Hall, 1313 Spring St., St. Helena, sthelenawintermarket.com.
Winter Solstice Meditative Walk
In the midst of a busy season, there will be a chance to slow down and celebrate the Winter Solstice on Dec. 21. The free event will be in the upstairs Grange at the Healdsburg SHED, and it will be lit up with candles. Guests will walk the spiral, leaving the candles behind, to reflect gratitude. Hot cider will be poured downstairs. 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Healdsburg SHED, 25 North St., Healdsburg, 707-431-7433, healdsburgshed.com.
