NASA satellite image shows Kincade fire damage from space

An imaging instrument aboard NASA's Terra satellite captured the burn scar left by the Kincade fire in Sonoma County.

The aerial image was taken about 11 a.m. on Nov. 3. Areas that were burned are shown in dark gray, and hotspots are shown as yellow dots.

The fire burned 77,758 acres and was fully contained Nov. 6.
