For the third time in four months, thieves stole thousands of dollars of high-end yoga pants and other items of clothing from the Lululemon store in Santa Rosa early Monday morning.

Burglars apparently smashed a glass door at the main entrance to the Montgomery Village store and made off with several racks of clothing, Santa Rosa police Sgt. David Linscomb said.

The thieves were gone when police arrived at 2:07 a.m. in response to an alarm triggered at the store, Linscomb said. No suspects have been identified, he said.

The Lululemon store, known for its chic yoga pants and trendy athletic wear, has been targeted at least four times since it opened in Montgomery Village in April 2017.

Three of the thefts have occurred in the past four months.

In December, two Vallejo men were arrested after allegedly beating a security guard and stealing $15,500 worth of clothing in a brazen daytime robbery.

In September, four women stole about $30,000 worth of clothing before eluding police, fleeing at speeds over 100 mph.

A detailed estimate of the losses to the store was not available Monday, although police speculated it may be in the tens of thousands of dollars.

“It’s a popular brand,” Linscomb said. “I suspect there’s a demand on the black market for it.”

The Vancouver company is best known for its leggings, which cost as much as $168 on its website. Parkas were priced at up $698.

Plywood covered the broken glass door at the store, which was closed Monday afternoon.

A manager at the store declined to comment and directed press inquiries to corporate headquarters.
