Overburdened teachers

EDITOR: Over the past few years, there have been major cutbacks to public education across the United States. As a junior attending Santa Rosa High School, I have seen the numbers in my classes grow to, and beyond, 40 students. I believe that the increase may give students fewer opportunities to learn to their highest capacities. It is not because the teachers are not trying but because they have so much on their plate. They strive so hard to equal out their attention, but there is only so much time in the day.

When a child is put into an environment where the teacher struggles to cater to all the different children's needs, then they are not getting the time and attention of the teacher that may be necessary for them to thrive to their fullest extant.

I believe that education should be a priority when it comes to state money. When we learn in a classroom where we have the teacher's full attention, we will bloom into our fullest potential.
