Downtown Santa Rosa Street closures for the Amgen Tour of California begin at 8 a.m. Saturday and continue past midnight Sunday.

During the race, which kicks off at 10:50 a.m. Sunday, roads outside downtown will be closed as riders are escorted by the CHP, which will reopen roads after racers pass. The rolling closures are expected to last 30 to 60 minutes.

The Highway 101 offramps downtown will remain open, but traffic will be diverted away from the areas that are closed. Parking will be limited to streets and to four public garages.

Mendocino Avenue will be closed Saturday as workers set up tents and stages. Sunday closures will be expanded toinclude portions of Third, Fourth, Fifth, Ross, Seventh and Ninth streets and Sonoma and Santa Rosa avenues.
