A debate over bringing a commuter train to Sonoma and Marin counties is set

for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Petaluma Library, 100 Fairgrounds Drive. Arguing

the two sides will be rail opponent Mike Arnold and supporter Mike Healy, a

former Petaluma councilman.

Orenda vigil

A candlelight vigil will take place Wednesday at the Orenda Center, a drug and

alcohol treatment facility slated for closure by the Sonoma County Board of

Supervisors. The vigil will begin at 7 p.m. at 1430 Neotomas Ave. in Santa

Rosa.

Supervisor debate

A debate by the seven contenders for the west Sonoma County supervisorial seat

will be Wednesday at the Santa Rosa Veterans Building. Scheduled to appear:

Efren Carrillo, Rue Furch, Maddy Hirshfield, Dan Kahane, Tom Lynch and Jim

Maresca. Reception at 6p.m., dinner for $10 at 7 p.m. Candidates speak

7:30-8:30 p.m.

Kelley goes to trial

The misdemeanor vandalism trial for Vice Mayor Linda Kelley of Sebastopol is

set to begin Tuesday. She faces charges that she keyed a truck that was parked

in front of her home last year. If convicted, Kelley could be sentenced to a

year in county jail, fined $10,000 and ordered to pay restitution.

Follow the money

Candidates in the June 3 election have until 5 p.m. Monday to get their

campaign finance documents in to their local Registrar of Voters office. This

filing will demonstrate whose campaign has been busiest raising money.
