The man who was found dead on the Santa Rosa Junior College campus Saturday morning has been identified as Robert Johnny Guzman, 35, of Santa Rosa, officials said. The death is believed to be a suicide.

SRJC police officers on patrol found the body about 10:13 a.m., on the front lawn that borders Mendocino and Elliott avenues, police said in a news release.

The man’s body was cold to the touch, and he did not have a pulse. He was declared dead about 10:20 a.m.

The Santa Rosa Police Department was called to assist with the investigation because the body showed signs of trauma, police said. But after investigation it was determined the man may have committed suicide.

Police withheld the man’s identity, pending notification of family, but said he was not a student at the junior college.

An autopsy will be conducted as part of the investigation, police said.
