Suspected of drunken driving, a Turlock man speeding early Tuesday as he drove in Windsor crashed his sedan up onto a sidewalk, sheered off a stop sign and knocked over a small redwood tree, according to Windsor police.
Officers arrested Dylan Agnitsch, 20, at about 7 a.m. after he crashed while driving on Hembree Lane.
Windsor Sgt. Andrew Cash said the driver had turned onto Hembree Lane from Shiloh Road and was near an entrance to Home Depot when he lost control of the Lexus, apparently from his speed.
Windsor deputies arrived and began a crash and possible DUI investigation. As a deputy attempted to detain the driver, the man resisted and Cash said the two struggled briefly before the driver was handcuffed.
Agnitsch was arrested on suspicion of felony assault on a peace officer, drunken driving and driving on a suspended license, Cash said.
He was booked into the Sonoma County Jail. Bail was set at $10,000.
