Larkfield fire destroys garage, van
A detached garage in Larkfield was destroyed Sunday afternoon in a blaze that was likely sparked by a vehicle, a fire official said.
Firefighters from the Rincon Valley, Santa Rosa and Windsor fire departments responded to a 12:13 p.m. call about a structure fire on North Dover Court.
Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze by 12:30 p.m., though it destroyed the garage as well as a van that was partially parked inside, said Ron Busch, acting battalion chief for Central Fire Authority of Sonoma County.
Another vehicle and a nearby fence also suffered damage, Busch said. No one was injured.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, but it is believed to have been started in the van, Busch said.
The homeowner told authorities that he had been working on the vehicle earlier in the day before leaving to do other tasks.

In the North Coast, we are surrounded by hundreds of wineries along with some of the best breweries, cidermakers and distillers. These industries produce an abundance of drinks as well as good stories – and those are what I’m interested in writing. I also keep my eye on our growing cannabis industry and other agricultural crops, which have provided the backbone for our food-and-wine culture for generations.
