San Francisco airport warns taxi drivers to stop using parking lot as a bathroom

SAN FRANCISCO - Officials at the San Francisco International Airport say security and police patrols will be added to crack down on cabbies who are increasingly urinating and defecating in the airport's taxi parking lot.

The San Francisco Examiner reports it obtained an email by SFO's senior transportation planner Seth Morgan sent last week to taxi drivers in which he says outdoor urination and defecation has worsened, creating a "health hazard."

He adds that there are restrooms nearby that are always open.

Morgan says San Francisco Police Department and SFO security will increase their patrols of the parking lot and those that are caught will face suspension, fines and possibly, arrest.

Taxi drivers have to line up to await passengers and if they leave they lose their place in line.
