Lakeport police searching for two men in attempted murder case

Lakeport police Monday were searching for two men suspected of attempted murder.

Police officials said Alberto Garcia, 33, and Antonio Perez, about 30 years old, attacked another man at a Royale Avenue home with “a large sharp metal object,” striking him in the head. Officials suspect the violence erupted when Garcia and Perez went to the 27-year-old man’s house Sunday evening “to confront him regarding a domestic issue,” police said in a news statement.

The 27-year-old man, who wasn’t identified, had “significant injuries” after the fight, according to police.

One suspect fled the scene on foot, and the other fled in a silver Ford F-150 pickup with a partial license plate of 6579L1.

Garcia and Perez are being sought on suspicion of attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon and battery causing great bodily injury.
