Two Clearlake women died Saturday night after their vehicles collided head-on near Middletown, the CHP said.

Carrie Anne Horarik, 46, was driving south on Highway 29 near Grange Road around 10:33 p.m. when her red 2011 Nissan Sentra crossed over the double-yellow lines, crashing into a blue 1999 Ford Ranger driven by Carol Amsbury Jackson, 77, CHP said.

Both women were pronounced dead after first responders pulled them from their vehicles. Horarik was wearing her seat belt, but Jackson was not, CHP said.

The crash remained under investigation.
